Step Inside

Welcome

A studio of expressive originals, intimate portraits, and paintings made to be lived with.

Carolyn's work invites a slower look: a textured face, a familiar animal, a place remembered through color. Each piece is created with care and offered as part of a growing collection for homes, collectors, and meaningful gifts.

Featured collection

Animals, portraits, and places painted with feeling.

Many paintings begin with a glance, a gesture, or a memory from travel. The finished work carries that first spark forward through layered brushwork, warm color, and a sense of presence.

Artist story

A creative life shaped by craft, travel, teaching, and attention.

Carolyn considers herself a citizen of the world and currently lives in New Brunswick. Her creative life has moved through stained glass, quilting, stitching, knitting, welding, garden design, and painting.

That hands-on history gives the work its warmth. Each canvas carries a sense of craft, observation, and genuine affection for the subject.

Studio rhythm

From first glance to finished painting, every piece begins with connection.

01

Notice the subject

A face, animal, place, or memory becomes the beginning of the painting.

02

Build the atmosphere

Color, texture, and gesture are layered until the work finds its own presence.

03

Share the piece

Finished works are available for collectors, commissions, and studio conversations.

Commissions

Personal commissions for portraits, animals, and meaningful places.

A commission can begin with a beloved animal, a portrait subject, a travel memory, or a feeling you want to hold onto. Carolyn can discuss scale, timing, references, and the spirit of the piece.
